Nirmal Singh, a relative of councillor Prabhjot Kaur, looks after MC-related works in the ward. He said water tube wells in the ward were 15-20 years old while new tube wells were not being installed by the MC, Ludhiana, despite repeated demands. There is a big problem of low water pressure in various areas and the civic body needs to get the same resolved.
He said now, water supply woes of residents had been increased due to power cuts.
MC’s Superintending Engineer Ravinder Garg said due to unscheduled power cuts, there was a water supply problem. “We had earlier raised the matter with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited to share information about power cuts but to no avail,” he said.
