The two-day cricket league match between Ludhiana and Sangrur in group D in the ongoing Punjab State Inter-District U-23 Cricket Tournament, that concluded on Wednesday here at the GRD Academy ground on Hambran Road, ended in a draw.
Resuming at the overnight score of 30 for three, Ludhiana managed to reach 193 runs, conceding a lead of 43 runs. Sangrur, in their second innings, found themselves fighting against the wall after losing their openers without a run being scored.
The visitors were 99 for 5 when match officials called off play in the final session, with no possibility of a decisive result in the remaining time. Since neither side was able to force a decisive result, the outcome of first innings played a crucial role in determining the allocation of points.
Sangrur, having secured a vital first-innings lead of 43 runs, earned two points while Ludhiana had to be content with one point.
