Ludhiana: Sanjana named best athlete at SDP College meet

Sanjana Yadav, a student of BA III, was named the best athlete on Saturday during the 56th annual athletics meet at SDP College for Women, Circular Road. Sangeeta, a student of BA-BEd III, was declared as the best player.

Sumit Sood, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana East, was the chief guest at the inaugural function. Balraj Kumar Bhasin, president, SDP Sabha and college managing committee, distributed prizes to the winners.

In the long jump event, Diya Banga, Amandeep Kaur and Saruchi finished on the podium, respectively.

In high jump, Parul bagged the first position, followed by Saruchi and Nisha.

In discus throw, Sangeeta finished atop the ranking, along with Gudiya and Vaishnavi on the second and third position, respectively.

In javelin throw, Kashish, Sangeeta and Riya occupied the top three positions in that order.

In shot put, Sangeeta and Gudiya again won the first and second positions, respectively, along with Minaj Parvin on third spot.

In 100m race, Diya Banga was the first to cross the finish line, followed by Sanjana and Shweta, respectively.

In 200m race, Sanjana turned the tables to bag the top spot, along with Yashna and Diya Banga on second and third positions, respectively.

In 400m race, Sanjana once again emerged as the champion. With her on the podium were Yashna (second) and Guneet Kaur (third).

In 50-metre sack race, Saloni was the quickest to reach the end, followed by Akansha and Babita.

In three-legged race, Muskan and Bhawna stood first, Anu and Anchal finished second, and Babita and Neha Kumari secured the third position.

In slow cycling, Jasmine managed maintained balance the longest and was the last to the finish, bagging the top spot. Kashish stood second in the event.

In fast cycling, Yashna, Sneha and Jagjeet Kaur stood first, second and third, respectively.
