The accused, identified as Tanveer Singh, a representative of Fast Tract Digital Solutions Private Limited, was booked under Sections 212, 218, 220, 318 (4) , 336 (2), 338 and 340 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Sarabha Nagar police station.

Umesh Kumar, investigating officer, said the FIR was registered on Wednesday on the basis of a statement from Managing Director, Punjab State Bus Stand Management Company Ltd (PUNBUS).

Further probe has been initiated to verify the allegations, he said.

According to the FIR, the accused allegedly did not honour guarantees made while bidding for supply of ordinary buses to PUNBUS.

The accused “misguided” the department by recording a wrong address and not responding to emergency calls from the authorities. He failed to attend a meeting called to discuss the issue on March 12, 2026, the FIR added.

“Due to the absence of the accused in a meeting held on March 12, 2026, the department had to restart the process for floating tender for procurement of buses, thus delaying the launch of new buses. He also failed to respond to multiple calls made by officers and gave wrong addresses, thus committing fraud with the organisation by delaying the process,” the complainant alleged.

The accused is yet to join the investigation or file a response in the matter, the police said.
