Ludhiana, April 18

The police have booked two persons, identified as Sukhwinder Singh, resident of Sigati village, and Dharminder Singh, resident of Rampur Ateela village, both in Bhiwani district, Haryana, under Sections 406, 407, 420 and 120-B of the IPC on the complaint of Sanjay Kumar, resident of Guru Nanak Nagar in Kuliewal. In his complaint to the police, Sanjay said he had sent a truck load of bicycles from Hero Cycles Limited to Tamil Nadu through a transport company being operated in the name of Janta Transport by the accused. Rs 45,800 were transferred in the account of Dharminder as freight charges. He said the goods did not reach the destination. Dharminder’s phone was not reachable and Sukhwinder was also not forthcoming with the facts. —
