The Kheri Naudh Singh police claimed to have arrested two youths and recovered 144 bottles of liquor from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Maninder Singh and Jaideep Singh, both residents of Machhiwara.

As per information, a police party led by ASI Hakam Singh had laid a naka near Bhari village. During the naka, the police party signaled a Zen Car coming from Kheri Naudh Singh side but after seeing the police party, the driver of the car tried to escape towards Bhari village. However, the police party impounded the vehicle and the police party nabbed the occupants of the car.

During search of the car, the police party recovered 144 bottles of illegal liquor that were meant for sale in Chandigarh only.

Kheri Naudh Singh SHO Gaganpreet Singh said the Kheri police had registered a case under the Excise Act against the alleged accused in this regard. The SHO stated that the accused were presented in a court from where they were sent to Nabha Jail for 14 days in judicial custody.
