LUDHIANA: A major tragedy was averted when three bogies of a freight train derailed near Dhandari Kalan railway yards here in the morning today.

Ludhiana, March 15

A major tragedy was averted when three bogies of a freight train derailed near Dhandari Kalan railway yards here in the morning today. When the bogies derailed, the train was moving at low speed.

According to sources, the loaded freight train was coming from Durgapur in Uttar Pradesh to Dhandari railway yards. As soon as the train (32238) reached near the railway yards, three bogies of the train derailed.

A large number of people gathered on the spot after the train derailed. The train driver informed the railway authorities in Ludhiana about the derailment, who arrived at the spot and started work to bring the bogies back on the track.

After much hardwork Railway employees managed to bring bogies back on the tracks. Later, the train moved to the yards where labourers started unloading goods from bogies.

The reason behind derailment of the train is not clear yet. Railway officials said they had started an investigation to establish the exact cause of derailment of bogies.
