Ludhiana, October 16

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Muneesh Arora has dismissed the anticipatory bail application of Rohit Kumar Jain, of Raman Enclave, facing accusations of duping a city homeopathic doctor Sunil Mittu for Rs15 lakh.

He was also accused of cheating two lawyers Ashok Mittu and Surinder Chawla of Rs17 lakh in the same FIR. Dismissing the bail plea, the Court held that the custodial interrogation of the accused was necessary.

The complainant submitted before the police that the accused was having friendly relations with him for the past 20 years. In May 2017, the accused approached him and demanded a loan for meeting his urgent needs.

After securing a loan of Rs15 lakh from him, the accused defaulted on repayment. Moreover, the cheque issued by the applicant also got dishonoured.

The accused, however, claimed innocence and alleged of being falsely implicated in the case by the complainant by conniving with the police.
