Man alleges torture by wife

A Sahnewal- based Gurjit Singh of Model town has alleged torture at the hands of his wife for the last 12 years. Gurjit in his complaint to the Sahnewal police stated that he married to Jatinder Kaur of Partapgarh and has witnessed interference of his in-laws.

He alleged that his wife fought with him on trivial matters and on December 8, his wife along with her brother Jaswinder Singh and sister- in-law Gagandeep Kaur assaulted him physically and threatened him of dire consequences.

A case under Sections 323, 341, 506 of the IPC has been registered against Jatinder Kaur, her brother Jaswinder Singh and latter’s wife Gagandeep Kaur.

Investigating Officer Sukhwinder Singh said a case has been registered against three people on the complaint of Gurjit who works as a property consultant.

“Gurjit has complained that his wife and his in-laws continue to threaten and beat him due to which he has become mentally upset. The complainant told the police that social obligations never allowed him to open his heart in front of others,” said the investigating officer. — OC
