Man arrested for raping girl

Ludhiana, September 2

A Himachal Pradesh girl was allegedly raped by a Ludhiana youth. The girl got a zero FIR registered against the accused at the Women Cell police station in Una, HP. After the Una police shifted the case file to the Ludhiana police, a fresh case was registered on Sunday.

The accused has been identified as Sharanjit Singh of Aujla village, Jalandhar.

The complainant told the police that she used to live at her friend’s house in Jalandhar for sometime. During this period, she came in contact with the suspect. She alleged that the suspect raped her at a hotel.

Investigating Officer Naveen Kumar said after registering a case against the accused, he was arrested by the police.
