Man ends life, wife booked

Ludhiana: A man committed suicide due to the alleged illicit affair of his wife. The deceased has been identified as Vimal Kumar of Heera Nagar, Noorwala road. On the basis of the suicide note, the Basti Jodhewal police registered an abetment to suicide case against the deceased’s wife Ekta, her paramour Rakesh Kumar of UP, one Ashu and his wife. The deceased’s brother Kamal told the police that on November 23, his brother left the factory in the afternoon to have lunch but he didn’t return to the factory later. “When I returned home in the evening, I found that my brother had committed suicide by hanging himself. I found a suicide note in which he (deceased) mentioned that his wife had eloped with her paramour due to which he is ending his life. TNS

Woman ends life, husband booked

Ludhiana: The Focal Point police registered a case of abetment to suicide against a man after his wife committed suicide. The police registered a case against Gurpreet Singh of Neechi Mangli. The accused is yet to be arrested. Complainant Manjit Kaur, mother of the deceased, Amandeep Kaur, told the police that her daughter got married to Gurpreet Singh about 12 years back. For the past few years, the accused had been physically and mentally torturing her daughter. On November 20, when her daughter was alone at her in-laws residence, she hanged herself from a ceiling fan. She remained admitted to a hospital for two days but on Tuesday she succumbed. TNS
