Ludhiana, September 20

A middle-aged man was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood near the Kotwali police station this afternoon. While the Station House Officer, Inspector Rajwant Singh, expressed ignorance about the incident, ASI Satnam Singh, who is investigating the case, said he arranged for a vehicle to shift the injured to the Civil Hospital.

According to the nearby shopkeepers, the man was running mad in the market. He stumbled over something near the Kotwali police station and got injured. When some shopkeepers asked him why he was running crazy, he told them that he was attacked by some persons and they were following him. He then fell unconscious.

Rajwant said: “Neither any accident case nor any attack case has come to my notice. This may be rumour”.

The ASI said it seemed the man was drunk and he might have suffered injuries after stumbling over something. Preliminary probe suggested that he was not attacked. He started bleeding from mouth when he fell over, said the ASI.
