Man gets 10-yr RI for raping minor

LUDHIANA: The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Sonia Kinra has convicted Anil Kumar, who hails from Azamgarh, UP, of kidnapping a minor girl and sexually abusing her. He has been sentenced to 10-year rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 1 lakh has also been imposed on the Anil. Out of the fine amount, Rs 60,000 would be paid to the victim as compensation. The case was registered on September 19, 2015, at the Division No. 7 police station. The girl’s father had stated that his daughter had gone to purchase books from the nearby shop but did not return home. He said he suspected Anil’s hand behind the girl’s disappearance. The police apprehended Anil and recovered the girl. OC
