Master class on data science



The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, GNDEC, Ludhiana, has started a master class on data science and its applications. “A centre of excellence for data science and business analytics was also launched in collaboration with the Sabudh Foundation. This centre will focus on training the students in the field of artificial intelligence and data science via hands-on sessions and support innovation for incubating startups in the area and employment for students,” said principal Dr Sehijpal Singh.

Talk on cyber security

The alumni association of Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management (SACCM) conducted a webinar on ‘cyber security and data protection’. Principal Ajay Sharma said the webinar was addressed by Arun Soni, Director, TCCS, and cyber security trainer, who has written more than 150 books on computer education and cyber security. Arun talked about how cyber-crime cases are on a rise and how people lack awareness about reporting such things. He discussed various ways in which our digital identity can be hacked and used in a malicious way.

Cultural extravaganza

An intra-college literary, fine arts and cultural extravaganza, ‘Reflexion 2020’, was organised at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi. It kicked off to a colourful start through an online mode. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, welcomed the newcomers to the college and advised them to strike a balance between academics and extra-curricular activities for their overall grooming. He also mentioned that such platforms enabled students to develop. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT, congratulated the participants for their brilliant performance. tns
