Ludhiana MC Commissioner checks Zone C areas, issues strict warning to officials

Continuing surprise inspections under 'Mission Clean Punjab' on the second consecutive day, MC Commissioner Neeru Katyal Gupta inspected different areas under Zone C on Tuesday morning and issued strict warning to officials after work was found unsatisfactory.

The inspections were conducted on Gill Road, Shimlapuri, New Shimlapuri and Chimney Road among other areas. Health officer Vipal Malhotra, SE Sham Lal Gupta, MTP Vijay Kujmar, CSI Rajinder Kalyan among other officials were present during the inspection.

Anomalies were found with regard to working of sweepers, dumping of garbage in plots or on road sides, etc. Strict warning was issued to the staff concerned and they were directed to ensure cleanliness in all aspects.

Gupta also inspected the ongoing work to recarpet Gill Road. Necessary directions were issued to expedite the work and remove the rubble side by side.

Zonal Commissioners have been directed to monitor the situation in their respective zones. The city areas have been divided into 10-km stretches and every 10 km stretch has been assigned to an official to ensure cleanliness on that particular stretch.

The MC Commissioner further stated that strict warning had been issued to the staff concerned and surprise inspections would continue in the coming days too.

Further, she appealed to the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean by not dumping waste/garbage in the open.
