Ludhiana, October 22

After reducing the reserved price, the MC has floated fresh tenders to invite bids for the outdoor media devices project.

The MC has invited technical and final bids through e-auction platform from outdoor media agencies on DBOMT (design, built, operate, maintan and transfer) basis for seven years.

This time, the reserve price of the tender is Rs 27.15 crore per year. Advertisements will be displayed at around 3,700 points in the city. The outdoor media devices include unipoles, LEDs, gantries, bus queue shelters, kiosks and others.

The reserve price of the previous tender was Rs 30 crore. The previous tendering process had remained unsuccessful as the firms had not shown any interest in the project. Technical bids can be placed online by November 19. These bids will be opened on November 20. The final bids through e-auction can be placed from November 27-December 4.

Notably, the Municipal Corporation has failed to implement the new advertisement policy — The Punjab Municipal Outdoor Advertisement Policy 2018 — in a right manner. The responsibility of officials was fixed, but they failed to act against the illegal advertisements in the city. There is no check on defacement being done by leaders of various political parties.
