Under the public awareness campaign ‘Mission Fateh’ launched by the Punjab Government to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the state, several activities are being organised in the district from June 15 to 21. The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) has now decided to promote ‘Mission Fateh’ amongst city residents. A function in this regard was held at the MC’s Zone D office here today.

About the campaign

Launched under the aegis of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Punjab Government, the aim of ‘Mission Fateh’ campaign is to make people aware about precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in all rural and urban areas of the state.

This function was attended by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, among others.

Balkar Singh Sandhu said: “For fighting the Covid-19, every employee of the Ludhiana MC worked wholeheartedly for 24x7, and that is why, the district administration was able to save a large number of people from this pandemic.”

He said: “For their work, all officials of the Ludhiana MC are Covid warriors.” He announced that after taking permission from the MC General House, a grand function would be organised to honour all MC officials and employees. He especially mentioned the positive role played by former MC Commissioner Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar during the pandemic.

While addressing the gathering, Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal appealed to all city residents to download COVA app on their mobile phones and get connected with the ‘Mission Fateh’. He urged them to also motivate others to get connected with this ‘Mission Fateh’. He also said Covid warriors and Mission Fateh warriors would be announced during this campaign. He urged all stakeholders to support the Punjab Government for the success of this campaign.

On the occasion, 27 MC officials were honoured for their services during the pandemic.

Besides, appointment letters were also handed over to 16 persons appointed on compassionate grounds.
