MC warns encroachers of strict action

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the festival season, the Municipal Corporation has decided to take strict legal action against shopkeepers found encroaching on roads and against those who organise functions by erecting tents on roads.

Municipal Commissioner Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar said if any shopkeeper or resident was found indulging in such acts, not only his goods would be confiscated but heavy fine would also be imposed on him. She has appealed to the residents not to encroach on or block roads.
