Members of the Marxist Communist Party of India (United) lashed out at both the Centre and the state government during the sixth delegate session at KK Kaushal Memorial Bawan, Doraha, on Monday.

Paramjit Singh, Surinder Shehzad, Balkrishan and Sukhdev Singh, Kila Raipur, presided over the delegate session. Pawan Kumar Kaushal in his inaugural address said the anti-people policies of the Centre and the state government had been creating a chaos in the country and the day-to-day law and order situation was deteriorating and getting worse.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, communal violence is on the rise, which is creating an atmosphere of mob lynching. The increasing communal violence is a serious threat to the unity and integrity of the country,” he added.

Before starting the proceedings of the delegate session, two-minute silence was observed to pay condolences to those who gave their lives for the cause of humanity.

Kuldip Singh gave a detailed report on the current national and international situation. He lambasted at the anti-people, anti-worker and anti-farmer policies and also the communal agenda of the BJP government in the Centre as well as the states and emphasised on the need of a common front of Left, Democratic and secular forces to defeat the Modi government in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

The delegate session of the MCPI (United) strongly condemned the role of the Nagar Council, Doraha, for not paying heed to the requests made for the proper drainage of stagnant sewer water seeping out from the gutters for more than a year in front of the State Committee Office of MCPI (United) in KK Kaushal Memorial Bhawan, Doraha Ward No. 14, Block No. 2. The stagnant water may cause the outbreak of an epidemic.

At the end of the session, an 11-member district committee was elected and Lakhwinder Singh Buwani was again elected the district secretary.
