Ludhiana, December 4

The ROB/RUBs project on Pakhowal Road has already missed its deadline of August 31, 2021, while the project work is still going on at a snail's pace.

The Municipal Corporation authorities had earlier announced the new deadline of December 31 but it seems the project may take more time for completion.

On Thursday, Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu inspected and showed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work on part of Railways Department officials related to Pakhowal Road Rail Over Bridge (RoB) and Rail Under Bridge (RUB) project. Ashu said he would take up the issue with the Union Railways Minister. Accompanied by Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Commissioner Pardeep Sabharwal and officials, minister today visited the project site.

He said due to the slow pace of work of the Railways Department, it was the common man who was suffering. In August, Williamjit Singh, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction Division), Northern Railways had assured that their part of Pakhowal Road RUB-2 would be completed by August 31, 2021. He directed officials to speed up work.
