With an aim to upgrade road infrastructure and fulfil long-pending demands of residents, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Grewal and Mayor Inderjit Kaur inaugurated a project to reconstruct streets in Sutantar Nagar of Ward 13.

Inaugurating the project in the presence of the area’s residents, MLA Grewal and Mayor Inderjit said the residents of the area had been suffering due to potholed roads for decades.

Inderjit said the residents would be relieved after the completion of the project, which was being taken up at a cost of around Rs 36.45 lakh.

MC Zonal Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, among other officials, were at the event. The Mayor said the focus of the civic body was on the overall sustainable development of the city. A number of development projects were being taken up by the MC, she added, seeking the residents’ support.
