Mohali trounce Ludhiana by nine wickets

Powered by deft batting contributions by Sourish Sanwal (50 not out) and Bikramjeet Singh (49 runs), Mohali trounced Ludhiana by nine wickets in the first match in Group B in the Punjab State Inter-District (U-19) One-Day Limited Overs Cricket Tournament. The match was played today at the DCA Mohali ground.
Mohali won the toss and invited Ludhiana to bat first. The visitors failed to put up any resistance as their innings folded at 105 runs in 27.5 overs. Armaan Walia made 24 runs and Shivam Verma contributed 18 runs.
For the hosts, Aryamaan Singh and Guransh Singh secured three wickets each after conceding 22 and 23 runs, respectively, while Namitveer Singh captured two wickets for 28 runs.
Mohali met the target in 25.4 overs after losing just one wicket. The lone wicket-taker for the Ludhiana team was Rivaandeep Singh Sehgal.
The second match will be played between Ludhiana and Faridkot on July 16 at Faridkot.
