As part of the Road Safety Month preparations, the Ludhiana District Administration, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, in coordination with the Road Safety Committee, has undertaken extensive road safety and enforcement initiatives across the district to reduce accidents and strengthen traffic discipline.
Daily vehicle checking has been strengthened to a minimum of 10 vehicles per day, covering RC/Registration, permits, Safe Vahan Scheme compliance and other safety norms. A uniform reporting mechanism has been ensured and daily compliance reports are being compiled for monitoring.Safe School Vahan Policy (SSVP) –
Strict implementation of SSVP has been ensured and enforcement intensified against violations.
The traffic police have intensified challaning action. A total of 97 challans were issued from December 30, 2025 to January 14, 2026 to improve traffic discipline. Further, compliance of PUC norms has been ensured and action taken against vehicles violating pollution and fog-emission norms.
