Ludhiana: Seth Industrial Corporation, manufacturers of Neelam Cycles, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Punjab National Bank to finance electronic-rickshaws and electronic loaders to rickshaw pullers without any collateral exclusively on Neelam Brand e-loader and e-rickshaw.



Ludhiana: Seth Industrial Corporation, manufacturers of Neelam Cycles, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Punjab National Bank to finance electronic-rickshaws and electronic loaders to rickshaw pullers without any collateral exclusively on Neelam Brand e-loader and e-rickshaw. The MOU would be applicable in all 7,000 branches of the PNB throughout India. It is based on Mudra Yojana introduced by the Prime Minister. It was signed by Chairman of Seth Industrial.

3 held with 4-kg opium

Ahmedgarh: The police seized 4-kg opium from three persons travelling in a truck at a naka on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla road. The accused have been identified as kingpin Harbans Lal of Saifabad village, Kulwinder Singh of Nangal (Jalandhar)and Harjinder Singh of Hussain Pura Thiar (Hoshiarpur). Both, Harbans Lal and Kulwinder Singh have been declared proclaimed offenders. Amargarh DSP Palwinder Singh Cheema said a police team had nabbed the accused.

Khanna SSP meets singers

Khanna: Khanna SSP Navjot Singh Mahal organised a meeting with singers, writers and videographers and appealed them to refrain from creating songs on gun culture. Singer Sardool Sikander, Kulwant Billa, Devinder Khanne Wala, Montu Dhuri, Bitu Khanewala participated. OC

Gang of looters busted, 2 held

Ludhiana: With the arrest of two persons, the city police claimed to have busted a gang of looters. TheY have also recovered 23 stolen mobile phones from them. The accused have been identified as Anrej Singh and Sherjit Singh, both of Mundia Khurd village. ADCP Rajveer Singh said on February 10, Lakshman of Sahibana village told the police that the accused looted him of cash and mobile phone. On February 3 night, the accused also decamped with several mobile phones from a shop in Mundian Kalan. More recoveries could be made in further probe, police said. 

Prisons Act: Jail inmates booked 

The city police conducted a surprise check at the Central Jail, Ludhiana, on Monday and recovered one mobile phone, one syringe, broken scissor and a knife from inmates identified as Rajwinder Singh, Rahul Kumar, Surjit Lal, Deepak Kumar, Mannu Atwal, Sukhwinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar and Harmanjit Singh. A case under the Prisons Act was registered against the inmates. TNS
