President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Navjot Singh Sidhu visited the city late this evening. He was here to condole with MLA Sanjay Talwar on the death of his mother.
During his first visit to the city after assuming the charge of PPCC chief, Sidhu had met Talwar’s mother at Fortis Hospital, where she was admitted. Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu had accompanied Sidhu to Talwar’s house.
Sidhu could not attend the cremation of Talwar’s mother and today paid a visit to his house after attending party workers’ meeting at Jalandhar.
“Nobody can fill the void created by a mother and I pray to God that the family is able to bear the loss,” said Sidhu.

Navjot Singh Sidhu also went to Jangpur village in Mullanpur Dakha. He visited the house of Congress worker Daljit Singh Bajwa (Happy), who committed suicide today.
Earlier, during the day, his audio surfaced stating atrocities by local Akali Dal leaders and administrative apathy as reason behind his suicide. Sidhu reprimanded the police and demanded immediate arrest of the accused named by Happy Bajwa in the audio.
Navjot Singh Sidhu also announced an immediate grant of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased by the PPCC.
