During this time, the institution organised a series of activities aimed at promoting healthcare awareness and strengthening outreach services for ESIC beneficiaries as well as the public. It included industrial health camps in nearby industrial clusters, in-house health camps, screening programmes, awareness talks, exhibitions, and nukkad nataks (street plays) to spread awareness about preventive healthcare.

A total of 10 out-station and 10 in-house health camps were organised, including an Ayush camp. At these camps, 1,902 patients were screened. The patients diagnosed with non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and anaemia were referred for specialised care. Screening for breast, cervical and oral cancer was also conducted, along with several other tests.

A cleanliness drive was conducted on the hospital premises to promote hygiene. Officials said “Suvidha Samagam” sessions were organised to educate beneficiaries about the facilities and services available under the ESIC scheme.

According to the officials, competitions were organised to recognise the best clinical area, best non-clinical area and best employees in various categories. They said these competitions were aimed at encouraging excellence and teamwork.

Dr Inder Pawar, dean, appreciated the dedication and collective efforts of the doctors, faculty members, the staff and the support teams. He said the successful conduct of the fortnight reflected the commitment of the ESIC family towards providing quality and compassionate healthcare.

Dr Aparajita D’Souza, medical superintendent, urged the faculty to remember that service should not be limited to a fortnight, and the real success of these activities will be seen only when everyone continues to provide compassionate, efficient and patient-centred care every day.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards and a pledge to continue strengthening healthcare services for ESIC beneficiaries and the community.
