Nehru Sidhant Kendra Trust pays theatrical tribute to Sahir Ludhianvi

The Nehru Sidhant Kendra Trust hosted its annual cultural event ‘Ek Sham Sahir Ke Naam’ here on Saturday. The play “Ek Mulaqaat”, based on the famous poet and lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, whose poetry has left a timeless legacy, was the highlight of the evening.

The theatrical tribute to the legendary poet was enacted by renowned cinema artists Shekhar Suman and Geetika Tyagi. It was not merely a play about two legendary literary figures, Sahir and Amrita Pritam, but also a poetic exploration of love that existed beyond definition, time and fulfilment. The absorbing act was scripted and directed by eminent cine personality Saif Haider Hasan. Sahir’s fearless but progressive thoughts on poetry, love, society and humanity were beautifully revisited during the performance. The auditorium, packed to capacity, was filled with discerning and culture-loving audiences, who thoroughly enjoyed the production.
