Nepalese man killed in road accident, 2 injured

Injured admitted to hospitals, police investigation under way to determine identity of accused driver

A Ludhiana-based Nepalese-origin man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding along with two other riders was hit by a speeding vehicle on Chandigarh road late on Thursday night.

The two co-riders, identified as Jai Parkash and Vinod Kumar, sustained injuries due to the accident.

The deceased was identified as Pankaj Kumar (28). Vinod was admitted to a local hospital, while Jai Parkash was referred to a multispecialty hospital in Chandigarh.

Deepak Kumar, the victim’s brother, informed the police that Pankaj, along with two other friends, was hit by an unknown speeding vehicle.

The three, all employees of a rolling mill, were returning home when the accident occurred.

The police have initiated an investigation to determine the identity of the accused driver.
