A 50-year-old Nepalese woman was found murdered at Jamalpur this morning. Acting on a complaint by the woman’s kin, the police registered a murder case against her paramour, identified as Sethi Kumar. The deceased has been identified as Devi Saraan.

According to the complaint lodged by the deceased’s son Abey Kumar, a resident of Ram Nagar, Mundian Kalan, his father is a watchman at Focal Point. On Friday evening, his mother left home without informing the family. When she didn’t return home, all members of the family started searching for her, but to no avail.

He said his mother had an affair with Sethi of Ram Nagar and she used to visit his house frequently. Sethi also visited his house in the absence of his father, said Abey.

He also revealed that recently, Sethi and his mother were caught red-handed by his father in the house. At that time, Sethi gave an apology in writing and assured that he would stay away from his mother, but he didn’t budge.

This morning, he came to know that the body of his mother was lying in a vacant plot near Sethi’s house on street no. 12, Ram Nagar. Her throat and other parts of the body bore injury marks. He suspected that Sethi killed her mother to avenge his humiliation at the hands of his father, said Abey.

The investigating officer, SI Harbhajan Singh, said a murder case against Sethi had been registered.
