Notorious smuggler among 15 arrested for gambling

LUDHIANA: The police conducted a raid at a house in Gobind Nagar Mohalla, Ghumar Mandi, last night and arrested notorious liquor smuggler Lakhwinder Singh, alias Lucky Dhidh, with 14 others on the charge of gambling.

Ludhiana, October 17

The police conducted a raid at a house in Gobind Nagar Mohalla, Ghumar Mandi, last night and arrested notorious liquor smuggler Lakhwinder Singh, alias Lucky Dhidh, with 14 others on the charge of gambling. The police recovered Rs 6 lakh from the spot.

Those arrested have been identified as Sanjiv Kumar of Chawni Mohalla, Sunny Sidhu of Shahi mohalla, Tikka of Basti Jodhewal, Manpreet Singh of Kehar Singh Nagar, Sanjiv Kumar of Vishnu Puri, Satish Kumar of Civil Lines, Sunny Bali of Jodhewal, Raman of Gogi Market, Lakhwinder Singh (Lucky Dhidh) of Joshi Nagar in Haibowal, Johny of Railway Colony, Surinder Sethi of Sun City, Sarabjit Singh of New Kundan Puri, Surinder Singh of New Santosh Nagar, Amandeep Singh of Jamalpur and Gagandeep of Islam Ganj.

The police said Lucky was already facing several cases of liquor smuggling.
