While resuming CRAMAT services, for registration of complaints with photograph, the MC has asked the firm concerned to add an option for the registration of online complaints related to fleecing at the paid parking lots.

MC Commissioner Kanwalpreet Brar said they have decided to continue CRAMAT, a mobile-based application. She has asked the staff concerned to add an option on CRAMAT for the registration of online complaints about fleecing and other violations at the paid parking sites.

Visitors were earlier unable to register online complaints against overcharging and fleecing at parking sites. Sources said the verbal complaints were generally ignored by the staff concerned, that’s why no concrete action was taken against any erring contractor in the past.

Notably, the MC had last month issued a notice to the firm to close the mobile-based application service. The application had received a good response, when it was launched in 2013.

Jaskirat Singh of Webrosoft Solution (P) Ltd said the civic body has asked them to continue with CRAMAT services. He said they have received a call from the MC to add an option on CRAMAT for allowing people to register complaints against overcharging and other violations at the parking sites. He said they would add the option on the app by Saturday morning, so that complaints against overcharging and other violations can be registered on the application.

Once the option for registration of complaints is added in CRAMAT, visitors would be able to submit complaint with a photograph by using the mobile application. MC Commissioner Kanwalpreet Brar said people must register a complaint if they face any kind of fleecing at parking lots.

Bachittar Singh, a visitor, said the civic body should also display boards at the parking sites to give information about the procedure to file online complaint through CRAMAT. The MC must add the online complaint registration option on its official website, too, and create more awareness among people in this regard, he said.

Erring contractors to get show-cause notice for the second time

As the contractors have failed to fulfil the terms and conditions, the Municipal Corporation will send a show-cause notice for the second time to the erring contractors. The MC had earlier sent the show-cause notices to all contractors, but they failed to ensure the terms and conditions. MC Superintendent Charanjeet Singh said the Commissioner had ordered to serve a second notice on contractors, who have failed to implement the terms and conditions of the agreement. If three complaints are registered against any contractor for violating rules, the MC can cancel the agreement of the respective parking site.
