NSS volunteer from SCD College selected for Republic Day parade
Anisha Rai Chauhan, an MA English student, is among 4 PU wards who made the cut
A National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteer from SCD Government College, Ludhiana, has made the cut for the Republic Day parade to be held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
Anisha Rai Chauhan, an MA English student, will represent the NSS contingent next year. There are four girls among the eight students selected from Punjab. Anisha is among the four students selected from Panjab University (PU). Anisha’s selection came after she cleared several rigorous stages of the selection from among hundreds of students.
Principal Gursharn Jit Singh Sandhu expressed happiness over Anisha’s selection and congratulated the student for her achievement.
He said the college is proud of her achievement. Sandhi added that this is a significant accomplishment of the college’s NSS unit, crediting NSS Convener and Programme Officers Devina Ghai and Saurabh Kumar, and the NSS team.
Anisha credited her selection to the NSS programme officers and said she received constant guidance and motivation, from the moment she jointed the NSS to the time she got selected for the parade, at every step, which made this achievement possible.
