Ludhiana: The Salem Tabri police seized four tractor-trailers and nabbed one person on the charge of illegal mining. The person has been identified as Jagdish Kumar.



Ludhiana: The Salem Tabri police seized four tractor-trailers and nabbed one person on the charge of illegal mining. The person has been identified as Jagdish Kumar. Three of his accomplices who escaped have been identified as Gurdeep Singh, Dyal Singh and Vicky, all residents of Kutbewal village here. Assistant Sub-inspector Mahinder Singh said acting on a tip-off, the police raided Hussainpura village. They noticed four persons loading illegally mined sand on their tractor-trailers. Jagdish was nabbed while the three others escaped. A case under the Mining Act has been registered. TNS

Woman involved in satta held 

Khanna: The police claimed to have arrested a woman who was involved in  a satta racket and recovered Rs 1.12 lakh from her possession. She is a resident of Khanna. Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said a police party, led by ASI Dimpal, arrested the suspect near the railway line here. A case under the Gambling Act has been registered. OC
