KHANNA: The Khanna police claimed to have arrested one person and recovered 700 gm opium from his possession. The person has been identified as Pappu, a resident of Kattka village Shahjahanpur district. SSP Hanna Dhruv Dahiya disclosed in a press note that a police party of Khanna Police led by Baljinder Singh in-charge CIA/Staff Khanna was patrolling from Khanna Via Bija to Payal side. During patrolling, the police party witnessed a suspected person near T-Point of the Ghungrali Rajputan village. After seeing the police party, the alleged accused threw a polythene bag into the agricultural fields and tried to run away. The police nabbed him and seized the polythene bag. During interrogation, 700 gm of opium was recovered from his possession. A case under the Section 18, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered and the alleged accused was arrested him. The accused will be presented in the court for further action in this regard.
UCPMA releases calendar
Ludhiana: A function was held under the leadership of Inderjit Singh Navyug, president, United Cycle Parts Manufacturers’ Association (UCPMA), to inaugurate the calendar for the year 2019. Omkar Singh Pahwa was the chief guest on the occasion, while Avtar Singh Bhogal, was one of the guests. Pahwa said he was doing his best to resolve the problems of the cycle industry and bring the industry to greater levels. He congratulated the UCPMA for the release of calendar. TNS
