Ludhiana, June 30

Covid-19 today claimed another life in the district while 40 more tested positive. A 43-year-old man from Madhopuri, who was admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), succumbed to Covid. With his death, the number of fatalities has reached 20 in the district.

A woman from Malerkotla also lost her life to the virus at Oswal Hospital.

Of 44 patients testing positive today, 39 belong to Ludhiana district. A 48-year-old woman, who was yesterday included in positive cases from Sangrur, has now been included in the Ludhiana tally, as she lives here.

Of persons testing positive today, 14 belong to micro containment zone of Ashok Nagar in Salem Tabri, four from Jamalpur, two from Bhamian Kalan, one from Chandar Nagar, one from Ber Kalan village in Payal, three from Dugri, one from Dhandari Kalan, two from Focal Point, two from Basti Jodhewal, two from Civil Lines, one each from BRS Nagar, Model House in Khanna and Harkrishan Nagar, two from Barewal and one from Industrial Area.

Those who tested positive from the micro containment zone of Ashok Nagar in Salem Tabri are in the age group of 45-35 years and also include three kids.

Two residents of Sun Apartments, Barewal, who are contacts of a positive patient, were also found infected.

From Bhamian Kalan, a 36-year-old man and a pregnant woman tested positive.
