Ludhiana, April 6
One more person has tested positive for COVID-19 in the district. The 55-year-old patient belongs to Chowkiman village and had taken part in the Tablighi Jamaat in New Delhi.
With this case, Ludhiana district now has two Jamaat attendees who have tested positive for Covid-19. Yesterday, a person belonging to Rajgarh village tested positive. The number of patients testing positive in Ludhiana has reached 7, including the woman from Jalandhar who has been admitted to a local hospital. Two patients have died.
The resident of Chowkiman village has been admitted to Civil Hospital. A total of 11 contacts of the patient were picked up by the department.
The Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Bagga, confirmed that one more person tested positive for Covid from Ludhiana today. Meanwhile, the report of a suspected Covid-19 patient who died yesterday came out negative.
Notice to staff for not shifting body of suspected Covid-19 patient
The Senior Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Dr Ravi Dutt, has issued a notice to the medical officer, radiographer, staff nurse and the entire staff of the isolation ward for not shifting the body of a suspected Covid-19 patient who died yesterday. The dead body had not been shifted to the mortuary for more than a couple of hours.
