Ludhiana, September 17

One person tested positive for Covid, while no death due to the disease was reported in the district today. The recovery rate of Covid patients at present is 97.57 per cent.

Today there were 26 active patients in the district and 24 were sent for home isolation. One patient was admitted to the hospital for Covid treatment. Today total three patients tested positive — one from Ludhiana and two from other districts.

Till date, a total of 24,19,826 samples have been taken, of which 23,20,637 were found negative. The total number of patients belonging to Ludhiana is 87,517, while 11,672 patients belong to other districts/states.

The total number of persons who lost their lives to the disease is 2,100 from Ludhiana and 1,049 from other districts.

Samples of 8,055 suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere to all safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently.
