A total of sixteen in-service candidates attended a two-day online training course on “Preparation of value added milk products” organised by the Skill Development Centre of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

Dr Tejinder Singh Riar, Associate Director, Skill Development Centre, welcomed the resource persons and trainees. He informed that the training course was organised, especially for the home scientists and the demonstrators of Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

Dr Kiran Grover, Senior Extension Specialist, Food and Nutrition, said dairy farmers and farm women could add value to the milk by preparing a wide variety of milk products. She illustrated the preparation of varieties of healthy shakes, sweets and puddings by using milk, curd, paneer, khoa and butter milk.

Dr Poonam A Sachdev, Head, Department of Food Science and Technology, and Technical Coordinator, emphasised on preparing value added milk products to improve nutritional and entrepreneurial value.

Dr Jaspreet Kaur, food science technologist, demonstrated the making of paneer, ice-cream and kulfi.

Dr Arshdeep Singh, from the Department of Food Science and Technology, demonstrated the preparation of different milk items.
