Operation Prahar 2.0: Khanna police detain 125 suspects on Day 1
Three gangsters were arrested, 45 wanted criminals apprehended, 46 persons detained, two proclaimed offenders were arrested, and 29 other suspects detained for questioning, says SSP Khanna Dr Darpan Ahluwalia
As the 72-hour “Operation Prahar 2.0” was launched by the Punjab government against gangsters on Monday, various teams of Khanna police detained 125 suspicious persons on Day 1 of the campaign.
Simultaneous raids were conducted at 151 locations across the three subdivisions of Khanna, Payal, and Samrala. Multiple police teams targeted gangsters, drug traffickers, and other criminal elements.
During the operation, three active gangsters were arrested, 45 wanted criminals apprehended, 46 persons detained under preventive action, two proclaimed offenders were arrested, and 29 other suspects detained for questioning, said SSP Khanna Dr Darpan Ahluwalia.
SSP Ahluwalia informed that the police recovered Rs 4 lakh in drug money, 321.15 grams of heroin, 60 intoxicant capsules, one kilogram of opium, three cartons of illicit liquor, one vehicle, four live cartridges, eight expensive mobile phones, one smartwatch, and mobile accessories.
The SSP stated that such operations will continue in the future to make the Khanna district completely free from crime and drugs.
