Orbit bus staff among 5 booked for thrashing PRTC driver

LUDHIANA: The police have booked five persons, including the driver and conductor of an Orbit bus, for allegedly thrashing a PRTC driver.

The police have booked five persons, including the driver and conductor of an Orbit bus, for allegedly thrashing a PRTC driver.

In his complaint, the driver of the PRTC bus (Faridkot depot), Resham Singh, stated that the PRTC bus had slightly touched the Orbit bus near Katani Kalan on Chandigarh Road on April 15 evening.

The PRTC bus was on the way to Ludhiana from Chandigarh. But the Orbit bus driver chased them and stopped his bus in front of the PRTC bus, he said.

Singh alleged that the Orbit bus driver, conductor and three unknown persons thrashed him and tore his uniform.

Following a complaint, the Koom Kalan police have registered a case under Sections 323, 341, 506 and 34 of the IPC against five persons.

The two accused have been identified as Jaggi and Bhau while the three other accused are yet to be identified.

According to the complainant, talks were on to reach a compromise, but there was little success.

On way to Ludhiana
