Paramedical staff carry out survey in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, July 6

Under the Mission Fateh campaign of the state government and to ensure that residents remain safe, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Varinder Kumar Sharma today held a review meeting with senior district and police administration officials at his office, here, today.

The Deputy Commissioner has assured residents of the district that the administration was committed to ensure the well-being of all persons living in the district and sincere efforts were being made to check the spread of Covid-19.

He reiterated that the virus could not be brought under control without the active support of residents.

The DC said that was why Mission Fateh had been launched in the state and it would be made successful with the active participation of residents.

He also warned of strict action against persons who fail to follow instructions issued by the state government and the Health Department in this regard.

During the meeting, he directed Health Department officials to carry out maximum sampling of suspected patients and they should keep a close watch on incoming passengers at railway stations and bus stands. A special emphasis should be laid on hotspots and people staying in containment and micro-containment zones should be provided ration or cooked food, he said.

Civil Surgeon Rajesh Kumar Bagga told the Deputy Commissioner that the Health Department, through its paramedical staff, was compiling online data of persons who were aged above 30 and suffering from one or more diseases and residing in over 8 lakh households of the district.

He said the data was being collected by door-to-door visits and residents were also making the masses aware of wearing a face mask before leaving their houses, maintaining physical distancing and washing hands frequently.

He said to ensure that people did not forget these things, a sticker was also pasted outside each house, which mentions phone numbers of the Covid control room 0161-2444193, 4622276, where people could contact in case they have any Covid-like symptoms.

Sharma said all departments should motivate the residents to download the COVA app and also upload their mask-bearing photograph.

He said if a person uses the referral code of another person to join the app, additional points were added to their account and the person could win a gold, silver or bronze certificate, bearing the signature of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.

He appealed to the residents to assist the district administration and the Health Department in checking the spread of the virus in the district and should contact their nearest flu corner at the government hospital if they have any symptoms.
