KHANNA: A man was murdered at Kotala village near Samrala allegedly by his woman friend and her husband.

A man was murdered at Kotala village near Samrala allegedly by his woman friend and her husband. The deceased has been identified as Gurjant Singh (45), a resident of Kakrala Khurd village.

According to information, Gurjant had illicit relations with the woman. He had been stay away from his woman friend for the past few months. Her husband was also aware of the illicit relations of his wife with Gurjant.

Jasdev Singh, cousin of Gurjant, told the police that the woman was angry with Gurjant as he was trying not to meet her.

Samrala SHO Sukhbir Singh said last night, both woman and her husband hatched a plan to kill Gurjant. She called Gurjant at her home and told him that she was alone. When Gurjant reached her home, both the woman and her husband attacked Gurjant with blunt weapons.

After severely injuring him, they raised the alarm. They told the neighbours that someone barged into their house with intent to rob them and they beat him up. To give credence to their story, the couple also took Gurjant to Civil Hospital, Samrala, where he was declared brought dead, said the SHO.

The SHO said during preliminary investigation, the police came to know about the murder and registered a case against Avtar Singh and his wife, who had absconded.
