After getting a relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in fees, school managements have started asking parents of various schools to get the fees deposited at the earliest or names of their wards will be strike off from the school. The Delhi Public School Ludhiana Parents Association today submitted a collective representation to the school authorities and have requested to listen to concerns of parents during the pandemic.

The parents have sought compliance of the order (dated March 9, 2017) passed by the regulatory body under the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institutions Act, 2016, to refund certain amounts running into crores of rupees by the DPS, back to parents, which was found to be “wrongly” collected by the DPS over a period of time, said Puneet Bansal, president of the association.
The order was passed long back and till date the same has not been complied with by the DPS, depriving the parents of their hard-earned money, said the representation submitted today by the parents.
The parents also urged the management to revise the school fees for the session 2020-2021 in accordance with the provisions of the Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institutions Act, 2016.

The parents requested the authorities either to waive other expenses or provide concession to parents to get a breather as the schools were not conducting smart classes and practical classes, running vans, undertaking maintenance, etc.
