Parmarth, Prisha romp home victorious in Under-11 category

LUDHIANA: Parmarth and Prisha Nano Sehgal, both students of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ U-11 category, respectively, in the DD Khosla Memorial Ludhiana District Chess Championship held at BCM School, Shastri Nagar, here on Saturday.

Ludhiana, May 12

Parmarth and Prisha Nano Sehgal, both students of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ U-11 category, respectively, in the DD Khosla Memorial Ludhiana District Chess Championship held at BCM School, Shastri Nagar, here on Saturday.

Competition in the boys’ and girls’ U-17, U-9, U-11 and U-13 sections was held on Saturday and top-three players in each category were given prizes. Dr Harish Sehgal from GTB Hospital, Model Town, and former president, Ludhiana District Chess Association, was the chief guest of the day.

Khushman Singh (4), a student of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, was given the youngest participant award. Matches in the U-15, 17, 19 and open category would be held on Sunday.
