Patiala Colts HRFC XI and Amandeep Club, Amritsar, registered victories in their respective matches on the third day of the first Punjab State T-20 Cricket Tournament for Trident Cup being organised jointly by the Ludhiana District Cricket Association and Hara School of Cricket here on Sunday.
In the match played at Hara Academy ground, Baddowal, Patiala Colts HRFC XI recorded an emphatic seven wickets win over Malwa Heroes and earned two points to keep their hopes to make a cut for the semi-final berth alive.
Malwa Heroes won the toss and decided to bat first. However, their innings folded up at 81 runs in 18.5 overs.
Tegbir scored 22 runs off 26 balls while Harjot scored 24 runs.
For Patiala Colts, spinner Emanjot Singh grabbed four wickets for 17 runs whereas Gurwinder Bhullar claimed two wickets and Balwant Rai chipped in with two wickets.
Patiala Colts achieved the total comfortably in 14.1 overs after losing three wickets.
Emanjot Singh was declared the man of the match.
In the match played at GRD Academy Ground, Hambran Road, Amandeep Club managed to outplay Mohali Legends by 48 runs.
Batting first, Amandeep Club set a challenging target of 154 runs. Abhishek Saggar scored 60 runs while and Rohan Marwaha made 39 runs.
For Mohali Legends, Saurav Dhaliwal clinched two wickets for 33 runs.
Chasing the target, Mohali Legends managed only 106 runs in the penultimate over of the match. Vinay was declared the man of the match.
