Patiala, Khadoor Sahib teams to clash in final

Ludhiana, November 9

Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre, Patiala, and Khadoor Sahib Academy in Tarn Taran won their respective semi-finals to settle for the title clash in the 65th Punjab State Inter-School Hockey Tournament for Boys U-19 being held at the Astroturf Stadium of the Punjab Agricultural University here on Saturday.

In the first semi-final, SAI Centre, Patiala, beat SGPC Hockey Academy (4-1) to storm into the final.

The second semi-final played between Malwa Hockey Academy, Ludhiana, and Khadoor Sahib Academy was decided via shootout as the two sides were tied at the end of the stipulated period. In the tie-breaker, Khadoor Sahib Academy emerged winners (4-1) to join SAI Centre, Patiala, in the final, scheduled to be played on Sunday.

Rupinder Singh Ravi, state organiser, Punjab Education Department and Swaranjit Kaur, District Education Officer will be the chief guests at the prize distribution function tomorrow. — OCs
