LUDHIANA: A one-day training camp was organised at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) for the members of the Seed Producers and Nursery Growers Association (SAPNA).

A one-day training camp was organised at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) for the members of the Seed Producers and Nursery Growers Association (SAPNA). A total of 90 members participated in the camp held under the aegis of the directorate of Extension Education.

Navtej Singh Bains, director of research, PAU, shed light on the research programmes of the university. GS Buttar, additional director of Extension Education, highlighted the extension activities of PAU.

TS Riar, associate director (Skill Development), urged the participating farmers to encourage other farmers as well to acquire trainings in various aspects of agriculture from the skill development centre. He familiarised the trainees with Punjab’s agri-business incubation. Dilbag Singh, Navjot Kaur and Tosh Garg explained seed production of vegetable crops, paddy and basmati, and maize, respectively.

A new executive committee of the SAPNA was constituted under the supervision of SK Thind. Kulwinder Singh was elected as the new president of the association.
