PAU student awarded INSPIRE fellowship

LUDHIANA: Pallavi Sharma, a PhD student in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded INSPIRE Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, for conducting research on ‘Shelf life enhancement of sprout inherent bulb crops using irradiation,’ under the guidance of Prof Sanjeev Rattan Sharma.

Pallavi Sharma, a PhD student in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded INSPIRE Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, for conducting research on ‘Shelf life enhancement of sprout inherent bulb crops using irradiation,’ under the guidance of Prof Sanjeev Rattan Sharma.

The INSPIRE fellowship is a postgraduate scholarship offered to the first ranker of a university in basic and applied science courses. The fellowship consists of Rs 25,000 plus 4,000 HRA per month with a contingent grant of Rs 20,000 per annum.

Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor; PAU; Dr Gurinder Kaur Sangha, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; Dr JS Mahal, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; and Dr Ashok Kumar, Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, congratulated Pallavi Sharma for this achievement and wished her a bright career ahead.
