The 13th annual dairy expo being organised by the Punjab Dairy Farmers Association started in Jagraon today. The expo received a lukewarm response as few dairy farmers as compared to previous years visited during the first day of the dairy expo. This year’s dairy expo is dedicated to late Dr Gurbachan Singh Kalket, former Chairman of the Punjab Farmers Commission.

Punjab Farmers Commission Chairman Ajayvir Jhakhar visited as the chief guest and inaugurated the expo.

As many as 200 national and international dairy firms have put up their stalls at the expo. While speaking during the occasion, chief guest Ajayvir Singh Jhakhar said annual dairy expo organised by the Punjab Dairy Farmers Association had played a significant role in promoting dairy sector in the state. He added that the dairy expo of PDFA had helped the farming community economically and technically.

“We have been struggling for the uplift of dairy farmers of Punjab for a long time. We staged protests in Punjab as well to raise the demands of dairy farmers of the Punjab with the government,” said the PDFA President Daljit Singh Sadarpura.
