Ludhiana, October 26

Employees of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) observed a pen-down strike here today. Baldev Singh Walia, president, PAU Employees Union (Recognised), said all employees of the university, including teaching, non-teaching and Class four staff members observed a pen down strike from 9.30 am to 11.30 am today.

The strike would continue until all genuine demands of employees were fulfilled, he added. The joint protest of all PAU employees’ unions, which has been going on at the university since October 13, entered 14th day today. A large number of employees, including the women staff, participated in the strike and a protest dharna.

Lal Bhadur Yadav, Gurpreet Singh, Navneet Sharma, Bikkar Singh, Guriqbal Singh, Dharminder Singh Sidhu, Daljit Singh, Sukhdev Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
